Phonetic zoo. Click here to download this Spelling Placement Test as a PDF. The Phonetic Zoo is available in level A elementary B intermediate and C advanced. Phonetic Zoo is a spelling curriculum for students working at the equivalent of a 3rd grade level and up.

Level A contains 47 Lessons on 5 Audio CDs or MP3. This phonics-based program uses auditory input to ensure that the correct spelling of each word is absorbed by the brain. It compliments IEWs writing and provides a different approach compared to many programs out there in the market.

This program is designed for children ages 9 and up. According to this approach children learn best when what they see is reinforced by hearing and when what they hear is reinforced by being seen The visual components of the Phonetic Zoo consist of 47 Lesson Cards. Students receive auditory input and spell the word aloud letter by letter to help them accurately remember the correct sequence---rather than simply looking at the word as a whole.
