Canyon Overlook Trail
The Canyon Overlook Trail is one of the few official trails in the upper East Canyon.
Canyon overlook trail. Snow Canyon Overlook Trail is part of the Red Mountain Trail system and is accessed from the same trail head in Dammeron Valley. The hike begins with charming steps. Its located near the Parks east entrance at the end of the famous Zion tunnel.
It is a one-mile round-trip one-hour round-trip hike easy for most adults even 78-year-old retirees and moderate for young children. A cool little alcove that has a water seep. The trail begins by immediately climbing a set of steps carved into the sandstone with handrails to provide assistance which set the tone for the rest of the trail.
Jones Canyon and Kings Canyon which are just east of the UtahColorado border are the western most canyons. Canyon Overlook Trail is a 1270 ft blue singletrack family friendly trail located near Flintstone Maryland. There is a small parking lot available on the south side of Highway 9 across the street from the trailhead which makes parking easy.
So if this is your first or even your second time in Zion put the Canyon Overlook Trail on your list of things to do. You can peer down into the popular technical slot canyon Pine Creek. It can only be reached via private vehicle.
Court of the Patriarchs This 01-mile walk heads up a short rise in the center of Zion Canyon to offer a nice view of the surrounding sandstone peaks. Starting just east of the tunnel it is a nice short-but-sweet hike on a maintained trail that ends at a great viewpoint looking into the main canyon. It begins with charming steps carved into sandstone that climb above the Zion-Mt.
Walking along the first stretch of the manufactured trail. Looking south on the far horizon visitors may see Mount Trumbull 100 miles away at the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Visitors will find pit toilets in the parking area.
